We are engaged by clients to sell their business, raise capital through equity or source acquisitions.

The majority of our M&A engagements are business sales and we specialise in selling businesses in the $1m to $50m range to strategic buyers who recognise the strategic value in acquiring businesses and who have the motivation and capacity to acquire them.  These buyers are generally on our proprietary M&A database with 80% of all buyers coming from our extensive database.

This proprietary database has been developed over the last 20 years and includes all organisations in Australia with more than 10 employees; Corporate, Private and international investors.  This allows us to readily identify and target prospective purchasers. It is understood to be one of the best sources of business intelligence available and is a key point of difference.

Divest Merge Acquire have a proven track record of achieving a success rate in excess of 70% of all business we are engaged to sell while the industry average is closer to a 30% success rate.  This is because we understand the market and we know how to sell businesses in the mid-market.

We will manage the sale process from the initial engagement, preparation of the information memorandum (IM), marketing, qualification of buyers, due diligence, negotiation and completion.

We understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion in marketing your business and in negotiations.  We qualify all prospective buyers and all potential buyers must sign a confidentiality agreement and be approved by the client before entering the process.

We also appreciate the importance of professional, responsive communication with all parties including the client, the client’s advisers and potential buyers.

We work closely with the clients’ accountants, lawyers and other professional advisers as these advisers know their clients and their needs and they always have their clients best interest as a priority.
